198 | An island Situated at the north end of Loch Finlaggan. This island is spoken of in Fullarton's Gazetteer as the Island of Finlaggan but is known in the locality as Eilean Mòr. The name Finlaggan being of recent date. Eilean Mòr "An island situated at the north end of Loch Finlaggan It was the principal residence of the Lords of the Isles after their expulsion from the Isle of Man A.D. 1304. Here may be seen the ruins of their princely abode in which they resided in all the Splendour of Royalty. |
