Mr. Peter McIntyre farmer Balulve
Mr. John McArthur Laoigan
Mr. William Rounsfel Persabus
198 Applies to an ancient Burial ground Situated about an eighth of a mile Southeast from "Builruadh" & about the Same distance N.W. [North West] from "Cùil nam Bodach". In the Centre of this Burial ground Stands the remains of a Chapel which is formed into a Crumbling old Bank overgrown with grass. By the appearance of both of these objects a person would judge them to be of an ancient date which may be confirmed by the fact that no person knows anything in connection with them. These objects are on the property of Charles Morrison Esquire of Islay. "Eileagan" is obviously a Corruption of Helgi - a Danish prince to whom the Chapel is said to have been dedicated, There can be no doubt about it's antiquity, as the place seems to have been of importance the fact that no mortar was used in its construction places its establishment anterior to A.D. 1000.
