186 The ruin of an ancient Chapel situated in the Burial Ground at Kilnave, on the west side of Loch Gruinart, The walls are almost intact, The roof etc is said to have been burnt off on the day upon which the battle of TraighGhruinart was fought, which occurred in 1577. It is supposed to be one of five Churches built & endowed, in this parish by the Lords of the Isles after they had taken up their residence in Islay in 1304. Sig.
