It is probable that in this place may have stood a chapel dedicated to Saint Oran. About 30 years ago, while improvements were being made, on S.E (South East) side of Colonsay House, a stone Coffin and human remains were found. This graveyard was used as a place of interment up to the time when the first portion of the mansion was erected in 1722.
