149 in 1814 on the demolition of a ruined wall in this parish, there was discovered a fragment of an ancient bell of diminutive size, evidently one of those bells of frequent occurrence in Scotland which were dedicated to some saint and held in great reverence in connection with his name. The case in which it was enclosed is of bronze richly ornamented & has attached to it a chain & small cross"

149 A little to the north west of Torr a Bhlaran there is a standing stone about 5 feet high, considered by the authorities quoted to one of the ancient monumental stones, there is no tradition regarding it.
