038 | About 12 years since when cultivating a piece of moss ground 4 bronze swords were found sunk in the earth about 2 feet: they were about 2 feet in length double edged & in a perfect state of preservation. They were exhibited at Aberdeen on the ocasion of the late Prince Consort's presiding as President at the meeting of the British association. After which they were presented by the late Right Hon. [Honourable] the Earl of Aberdeen, to the Edinburgh Museum. |
