030 | A very conspicuous eminence known by this name. The summit is covered with whins & heath. but apparantly redeamable. About 50 years ago a fair or market was held here which was notorious for the drinking and fighting propensities of its attendants and acquired the subrequent of "Cudgel Fair" It has many years ago fallen into disuse. |

030 | A beautiful specimen of natural Crystal was found here in 1859. It was very bright and transparant about Six inches long 3 inches thick at one end and came to a point at the other, attached to the thick end was a piece of quartz about 3 inches square. It has been forwarded to the Antiquarian Society. |
