STONE CIRCLE (Remains of) [Druidstown] | (Remains of) Stone Circle (Remains of) Stone Circle |
Mr David Brown Edingarioch Mr John Tough, Auchleven |
053 | A large stone circle once stood here but the stones have all been removed except one large one. There are several small pieces but they did not strictly form part of the Circle. The exact number composing the circle is not now known. The stone now standing is about 8 feet high, 4½ broad and 3½ thick. An idea of the size of the altar stone may be formed from the fact that seven land rollers were made out of it. |
