18 Applies to a dock or harbour for Shipping situated between the town and the island called Keith Inch and having its entrance from the South Bay of Peterhead and connected by the Junction Canal with the North Harbour, it is defended from the sea by the South and West piers and has very strong quays all around, which form Bridge Street on the North, the Ship Row on the East, and a part of Harbour Street on the West of it; the channel is 90 feet wide and has a depth of 14 feet of water at high spring tides. The harbour is upon an average 17 feet deep from the top of the quays, it is mostly frequented by the smaller trading vessels and Colliers, the large ships generally going into the North Harbour where there is more accommodation for them
