066 A small cairn of stones, Tradition "says" that battle fought on the hill of Danestone, between the Scots and Danes, in which the Scots where Victorious, after the said battle the remains of one of the Leaders of the Danes was buried beneath this cairn it is sometimes called the Monument, but the proper name is Danestone, the Leader who was buried here is said to have been killed in this battle.
