030 This name applies to a corner of a field close to the Brocks Moss. It is a well known name, but I cant get anyone to give the origin of it. There is a large stone stands within the piece called Dirkem, & is of long standing, but the people here know nothing about it.

030 Applies to a large cultivated hill feature, on the top of which the late farmer of Mains of Elrick removed a burial Cairn, there was a lot of calcined bones & earth found at the foundation. The date is doubtful when this cairn was removed, but Mrs. Mackie the late farmer's wife says, she thinks it was in the year 1839.
