030 Mr. Cassie found a stone coffin with an urn inside of it, in the year 1859, while reclaiming this field, the urn was broken while being removed from the cist. It contained a small quantity of darkish earth, and a few pieces of bones.

030 This name applies to a hill feature with a strip of whins on the top. A great number of antiquities have been found here at diferent times. The origin of this name is doubtful.

030 While Mr. Cassie was improving this field he removed the remains of what was supposed to be two Pictish Houses. They were situated close together and he thinks they measured about 8 feet long, by 6 feet wide, this may not be exact, but it is as near as he can remember. There was evident marks of fire on a large stone which he found in the ruins, and portions of the floor was paved.
