Mr John Ingram New Leslie | 043 | Mr John Ingram of New Leslie has from time to time found in a field called the Castle Croft 6 Silver Coins and 6 Copper Coins. The coins are all very much corroded but he thinks some of the silver coins belong to Edward the I. reign others to Elizabeth 's. The copper Coins cannot be correctly read. The Arrow Heads are neatly formed and are of the ordinary size. The Military Brass Plates are similar to those now in use, but on one is written Gareich Volunteers 40. The Bronze Sword Handle is beautifully carved and of the ordinary size. The Stone Axe is 7" [inches] long 3½" [inches] across the mouth, very neatly formed and smoothly polished. |
