061 ; 062 ; 063 ; 070 ; 071 I find the usual manner of writing this name in the Parish Registers to be, Leochel Cushnie, But Dr. [Doctor] Taylor and Mr. Reid are of opinion that the name ought to be written, Leochel and Cushnie, as by so doing, the names of both Parishes would be retained,
The annexation of these Parishes is legal,
A decreet for it was passed on the 28th January 1795 by the Court of Teinds, and two years after that the present Church was built.
The parish of Leochel and Cushnie is in the Presbytery of Alford and Synod of Aberdeen; it is bounded on the north by the parishes of "Kildrummie" and "Tullynessle and Forbes;" on the east and S [South] east by the parishes of Alford and Tough; on the south of Coull and Lumphanan and on the West by the parishes of "Tarland and Migvie" Logie-coldstone" and "Towie."
