083 An Old Castle in ruins, there is from two to five feet of the walls Still Standing about four feet thick, with wedge-like windows the building was of a Square form and apparently a strong place; the courtyard and offices can Still be traced on the ground Situated on a Small Mound.
Tradition of the locality says that it was built by a Queen Maud and afterwards belonged to a Bishop of Aberdeen and used by him as a hunting Seat. These ruins are owned by Duncan F Mitchell Esqr.
