042 | A cairn of stones on the Southern slope of the Corse of Laigh, forming a point in the parish boundary, popular tradition, assigns this cairn as the tomb of a maiden who belonged to Auchinleith, and who being attached to a neighbouring farmer's son; quarrelled with him and deliberately committed felo de se. People being guilty of this crime were not allowed to be interred in the churchyard; therefore she was carried here and buried. |
