About the beginning of the present century, it was reduced to nearly its present state. 061 | To the east is the Black Lardner, which was burnt by Edward Carnarvon. It was burnt again by the English in Cromwell's time, this is now the highest remaining tower, and may have an altitude of some fifty feet or thereabouts. |
