055 A farmhouse with offices and garden attached. There was originally a mill here, now disused. It is supposed by some that this name is derived from the Danes, as it is situated at the south edge of what was once the Moor of Kinmuck where a battle was fought between the Scots and the Danes, and in confirmation of that opinion it is called "Danemiln" in a statistical Account of the parish written about 1780. Others again suppose it is so named from the circumstance of the mill being situated in a small hollow or "den". Property of Alexander F. Irvine Esqr. of Drum
