The Village is pretty regularly built, there is also a large square in it: upon this square a number of streets converge, in it there are six places of Worship, "belonging to six different denominations": Gordon Schools, a branch of the North of Scotland, the Town and County, and Aberdeen Banks. Two Hotels, and four Public-houses, and it is well lighted with gas. There is also a Post-office and Post-office Saving Bank in the Village. The tenants are chiefly feuars under the Duke of Richmond
