026 | This is a most chaste and handsome building, with a tall elegant spire in the centre, although, as a structure it has none of those pretentious adjuncts which go to make many such buildings "romance in stone and lime". It is erected at the entrance to the Huntly Lodge policies, in memory of George, Fifth Duke of Gordon, by his widow. In her will the Duchess of Gordon bequeathed a sum of £3000 for the maintenance of the schools, and particularly for the "Female Industrial and Infants Schools".
