029 An old name of a conspicuous and deep ravine in which runs the Burn of Clattie or Clattie Burn. Abt. [About] 5. Chains above the conflux of the burn, and at the foot of the Den Stood an Ale House, it is said, for upwards of a century, and near the same was also a Snuff Mill proprietor, The Earl of Aberdeen.
