017 ; 018 ; 026 ; 027 ; 035 | The parish of Forgue is in the presbytery of Turriff and Synod of Aberdeen, and in the Western Division of the County, Patron, Morrison of Bognie. It is bounded on the north by the parishes of Rothiemay and Inverkeithing in the County of Banff, on the east by the parish of Auchterless, on the south and south-east by the parishes of Insch and Culsalmond, and on the west by the parishes of Drumblade and Huntly. The parish of Forgue contains about 17379 statute acres. There are no detached portions of this parish, nor are there any detached portions of any other parish within its limits. "The surface of the parish is undulating, now rising into heights and knolls, now sinking into straths and holms, The plantations are tasteful, judicious, and extensive, covering a considerable part of the parish... There is no eminence in the parish that deserves the name of a hill, if we except the Foreman which rises from the Deveron, at the northern extremity of the parish, to the height of 1000 feet... At Glendronach is an extensive, thriving, And rather celebrated distillery... The nearest market-town is Huntly, which is about seven miles from the parish church." New Statisl. [Statistical] Acct.
