"A large, elegant and commodious mansion in the Tudor style lately erected by Sir John Forbes, Bart. [Baronet]." Extract from Statistical Account. In Collections on the Shires of Aberdeen and Banff it is named "Lamington, the seat of Forbes of Craigievar, baronnet, a fair house, warmly and pleasantly situated, begun by Sir John, and enlarged by the late Sir William Forbes." |
