Stated by Mr. Henry to be of Antiquity. previous to taking away Stones to build dykes adjacent it was very large it is now about 14 feet high and about 90 feet in diameter it has never been opened and little or nothing is known of it but that it is one of the Ancient Cairns of the Country |

[Page] 38[Note relating to 'Cairn'] - This Cairn and the one in page 63 are the only ones now remaining of those noticed in the New Statistical Account. As this parish has been greatly improved and is still improving the remaining Cairns and Tumuli have disappeared and can not be pointed out on the ground.
In the Old Statistical Account the two names How of Echt and Barony of Culter appear. The examiner says the former is not locally known and the latter is not in this parish.
