081 This name is applied to a small island in Loch Kinord near it northern side. It is circular in shape and is believed to have been used as a prison at the time King Malcolm's Castle, which was built on a neighbouring island, and, was inhabited. There are still to be seen a few wooden stakes driven perpendicularly into it. It is now covered with wood.

081 This castle was situated on the largest island in Loch Kinord and was erected, according to information in "The New Statistical Account", by King Malcolm Canmore and was used by him as a hunting seat. There is not the slightest trace of the building to be seen now. The island is used as pasturage for sheep. A small island situated a short distance eastward from it was used as a prison in connexion with the building. *
