It bears this inscription:- Prince Louis, of Hesse Darmstadt, married, 1st July, to Princess Alice of England. This and the above cairn were erected on the occasions of the marriages of the Princess Alice and the Princess Royal to Prince Louis of Hesse Darmstadt, and Prince Frederick William of Prussia, respectively. |
