054 A small hill feature, being nearly all cultivated, and on which some 200 years ago, there stood an old Castle, called Blairbowie Castle, Mr Allan of Netherton, says that he removed the foundation of Blairbowie Castle some 17 years ago while draining the hill, he also says that his men came upon seven urns on the north side of the hill, in a sandy part of the field and close to the site of Blairbowie Castle, he also came upon an old Malt Kiln, and draw well, close to this place. Mr Allan appears to be the only person in this district who Knows anything about Blairbowie Castle , though, the most of them have seen the ruins before they were removed.
