056 A small burn formed by drains etc near Parkseat and flowing N. [North] Eastward into the Parish of Foveran. This stream is known as "Ardo Burn," "Menie Burn, and Several other names according to the lands it passes through. "Rack Burn," is well known, and is a neutral name, i.e. it does not apply to any Estate in particular, and I think it is the proper name to apply to the stream, so far as this Parish boundary extends. It is well known by tradition that a Chapel stood in this field previous to the Reformation. All remains of it have now disappeared and I have not been able to meet with any person who can point out the site of the Chapel. The enclosure is well known as "Chapel Park." B.R. [B. Render]
