081 A prominent rocky heathy pasture round hill, it is Steep on all sides and rises suddenly from a comparative low moor, the property of the Marquis of Huntly.
MULLOCH'S CAIRN 081 There is a flattened Cairn on the Summit of this hill about 60 feet in diameter and about 5 feet high composed of Stone, tradition says that a Danish Chief of the name of Mulloch was killed here while fighting against Malcolm III or Can-more in the eleventh cent. [century] was buried here and the cairn raised over him, hence the name of the Hill they say.
