075 A large river rising near the summit of Ben Macdhu and flowing in an easterly direction till it falls into the Sea at Aberdeen. Some miles below Kincardine O'Neil the Dee enters and flows through Kincardineshire for about 12 miles retouching the County of Aberdeen at the South-West corner of the Parish of Drumoak from which until it falls into the German Ocean it forms the boundary of those two Counties
The River has a total Course of about 96 Miles and is famous for the purity of its waters and the perennial flow of its head springs. it is also famous for its Salmon fisheries. Dee in the ancient British language signifies the black river or dark water. The City of Aberdeen takes its name from the river Aber being Mouth of a river in the same language.
