075 "Pitfoddel's Lodging stood nearly on the site now occupied by the Aberdeen Bank It was build probably about the Year 1530,
and pulled down in the beginning of the present Century; it contained three floors, and was provided with turrets, partly designed for ornament partly for defence at the Commencement
of the wars of the Covenant, in 1639 the Marquis of Huntly removed to this Mansion as a place of greater security than his house in Old Aberdeen --- Pitfoddels Lodging was probably "the Merchants house opposite the Tollboth" in which Charles II resided during his visit to the town in July 1650 when he was accompanied by the well known Duke of Buckingham and Miss Lucy Waters.
