075 A plain building situated at the North end of High Street, facing the South. It was originally erected about the Year 1702 by the Voluntary Contributions of the inhabitants and others having become ruinous about the Year 1800 it was rebuilt and fitted with an excellent Hall Council room and other accommodation, it is also provided with a public Clock, the ground floor is partly let off for shop and part of it used as police Chambers the first floor consists of Council Chambers and Comittee Room the second floor is the town hall
