Edinburgh 30th Dec 1788
I John Taitt Surveyor aforesaid do hereby certify that upon Car[eful]
Examination of the foregoing several Rates & Duties I find they a[mount]
in whole to Fifty one pounds twelve Shillings Sterling and that u[pon]
this day I delivered to George Cranston Esqr Collector of said d[uties]
at his office Edinburgh an exact duplicate of the Above Accompt [duly]
examined and compared with the foregoing which Certified that [notices]
of Charge were left with the several Inhabitants or at their dwel[ling]
Houses of the Dates annexed to their respective names that they were [to]
be charged with the same hereby certified to be due from them
