I William Johnstone Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify That upon carefull examination of the foregoing several Rates and
duties I find They amount in the whole to the sum of Three hundred and Thirty seven pounds, fifteen shillings Sterling and [that]
upon the seventh day of Novemr [November] (1787) I delivered to William Wilkie depute Collr. [Collector] of these duties for the County of East Lothian an exact duplicate of this Accompt duely examined & Compared which contained my Oath that the above Inhabitants were serv [served]
with requisitions of the dates foresaid and that they were charged in conformity to their respective answers thereto Or according to my
knowledge & belief that they were liable in said duties.
