Year commenceing the fifth day of July 1784 and ending the 5th of April 1785 by William Greig Surveyor
I William Greig Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon carefull examination of the foregoing Rates and duties I find they amount in whole to two pounds Sixteen Shillings and three pence Sterling and that upon the ... day of ... 1786 I delivered Mr John Colvill Collector of the Cess
and of the Said duties for the Burgh aforesaid an exact duplicate of the above account (as will appear from ....)

fifteen shillings sterling And that upon the fourth of April I delivered to Mr James
Johnston Collector of said Duties an Exact Duplicate of and duly Examined
and Compared with the foregoing Account which contained my Oath that

I John Veitch Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon Carefull Examination of the Foregoing several rates & Duties I
find they amount in whole to Two pounds Sixteen Shillings & three pence Str [Sterling] and that upon the 7 of March 1786 I transmitted
to John McAulay Collr [Collector] of the said duties for Shire afforsaid an exact Duplicate of the above Acct [Account] duly Examined &
Compared with the forgoing which Contained my Oath that requisitions were left with the Several Inhabitants or at their

I William Greig Surveyor aforesaid do here by Certify that upon carefull examination of the foregoing duties I find they amount in
whole to twenty four pounds Seven Shillings and Sixpence Sterling and that upon the -- day of -- 1786 I delivered Mr James
Dick collector of the Cess and of the said duties for the Burgh aforesaid an exact duplicate of the above Account ( as will appear from
--- ) duly examined and Compared with the foregoing which contained my Oath that nottices were left
with the Several persons before named or at their dwelling houses, of the dates annexed to their respective names, requiring them within
fourteen days to give in a list of their Servants retained or employed by them, from the fifth day of July 1784 to the 5th day of April
1785, and that the said Account or Survey was made out from the Lists returned to me, and from the best information I could procure of
the servants of those who neglected or refused to return a list in terms of the nottices left with them as aforesaid

I William Greig Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon carefull examination of the foregoing duties I find they amount in whole
to One Pound Seventeen Shillings and Sixpence Sterling, and that upon the ... day of .... 1786 I delivered to David Roberts Collector
of the Cess and of the Said duties for the Burgh aforesaid an exact duplicate of the above Account (as will appear .....
duly examined and Compared with the forgoing which contained my Oath that nottices were left with the Several persons before named or

Nairn from the 5th day of July 1785 To the 5th day of April 1786 By Archibald Duff Surveyor

2 Servants at £1.5.0 each per Annum for 3 Quarters of a Year if £1.17.6
I Archibald Duff Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon careful examination
of the foregoing several rates and Duties I find they amount in whole to one pound seventeen shillings
and six pence Str [Sterling] and that upon the Eighteenth day of March Currt [Current] I delivered to Alexander Kinnaird
Collr [Collector] of the said Duties for the Town of Nairn aforesaid an Exact Duplicate of the above Accm [Accompt] duly examined
and Compaired with the foregoing which contained my oath that Notices were left with the several Inhabitants
or at their dwelling houses of the dates annexed to their respective names In order that they
might make a report of the greatest number of Male servants retained and employed by them for
the period therein mentioned which they did in Substance as above.
