MALE SERVANT TAX In the Royalty of the Brugh of Haddington from 5 July 1785 to 5 April 1786

I William Hogg Surveyor of Taxes Do Hereby Certify that upon Carefull Examination of the Foregoing
Rates & Dutys on Male Servants in the Burgh of Haddington I find the amount to be Two Pounds
Sixteen Shillings & three pence Sterling And that upon the 19th day of December 1785 I delivered to Mr John
Carfrae Collector of the said Dutys an Exact Duplicate of the Foregoing Account exactly examined &
& Compared with it, and which contained my Oath that the different Inhabitants were Served with
Requisitions of the date aforesaid, And the Assessments Justly made out from their Lists & Answers sent
to Me, & now in my Possession
