E326/5/4/59 [Page] 59 A Survey of the Duties on Men Servants in the Royal Burgh of Rutherglen for the Year from the 25th of March 1778 to the 25th of March 1779 by William Mure Surveyor I William Mure Surveyor aforesaid, do hereby certify, that, upon careful Examination of the foregoing several Rates and Duties, I find they amount, in Whole to One Pound One Shilling Sterling, and that upon the 29 day of Jany [January] 1780 I delivered to Collector of the said Duties for the Burgh aforesaid, an exact Duplicate of the Above account, duly examined and compared with the foregoing, which contained my Oath, that Notices were left with the several Inhabitants, or at their Dwelling houses, of the Dates annexed to their respective Names, that they were to be charged with the sums hereby certified to be due from them, by me William Mure Sureveyor

That the foregoing list of Servants, bearing their diffrent names & Occupations, Signed by their masters, in terms of the Act of Parliament, were deliverd to me, And that upon the Seventh day of July current I deliverd to Baillie George Miller Collector of Said Duties for the Burgh aforesaid, An exact Duplicate of the Above Acct.
