At desire of the late Sir WILLIAM DOUGLAS, Baronet, the first ten denominations of the Estate in this Parish, now belonging to his Heirs, amounting to £334 Scots, were entered in the Valuation Roll of 14th June, 1799, in these general terms, viz - "Castle-Douglas, £92; Borough of Castle-Douglas, £120; and Craigley, £122:- but that arrangement having been irregular, and ultra vires of the Commissioners, the former denominations are here restored at the particular sums of valued Rent warranted by the Records.
At desire of JOHN HERON of Ingliston, the first two denominations of his Estate in this Parish were entered under the general name of KELTON-HILL, at a valuation of £147 Scots; and the other six denominations were entered under the general name of INGLISTON, at a Valuation of £142 Scots, in the Valuation Roll of 14th June, 1799; but that arrangement having been irregular,
and ultra vires of the Commissioners, the former denominations are here restored, at the particular sums of valued Rent warranted by the Records.
