I Thomas Goldie of Craigmuie Clerk to the Commissioners of Supply of the
County of Dumfries (comprehending the Stewartry late of Annandale and Five Kirks
of Eskdale) and Keeper of the original Valuation Book of the same made up and rectified
17th May 1671 and of a subsequent valuation Roll dated 30th April 1781 then authenticated
and approven of by the said Commissioners; also Keeper of the Sederunt Books & Records
of the said Commissioners, do hereby Certify and Declare, that what is written upon the
Sixty two preceeding Folios, contains a just, true and full account of the valued rents of the whole
lands within the said County as they were originally valued, or as since Altered and divided by
Acts and Decreets of the said Commissioners down to the date whereof; and that the same agrees
with the said Valuation Books, as to the Total Valuation of the County, and to the subsequent
Acts & Decreet of the said Commissioners in all other respects. I having carefully compared
the preceeding Books with the above mentioned Documents, & found it to agree therewith in
every particular. Intestimony whereof I have subscribed these present at Dumfries
the Twentieth day of April at the year One thousand Eight hundred & Three.

And I do further Certify and Declare That the Total valuation of the County of Dum:
fries including the several articles for Lost Lands before specified on folio 62, and for which
the Collector of Supply annually gets Credits Amounts to Two hundred and Thirty
Eight Thousand and Thirty one merks Scots as whereof my hand place & date above mentioned

County of Dumfries do hereby Attest the verity of the above Certificate and the
accuracy of the Valuation Roll written on the Sixty two preceeding Folio's As Wit:
