SCHEME OF ALLOCATION between and among the Trustees of HIS GRACE THE DUKE OF FIFE., K.G., [Knight of the Garter] K.T., [Knight of the Thistle] and purchasers from him or their Successors, and between and among the Trustees of the late JOHN HANNAY, Esquire, of Cairnhill, and purchasers from him or their Successors of the Old Valued Rent of the portions of the Fife Estates and the portions of the Cairnhill Estate lying in the Parish of Montquhitter and County of Aberdeen.

April 1913
The Valued Rents of the lands in the Parish of Montquhitter formerly belonging to the Duke of Fife and Mr Hannay are as follows:-
The Duke of Fife -- £147.8.4
Mr. Hannay, -- £169.3.0
[Total] -- £316.11.4

There have been several excambions executed between the Duke of Fife and Mr. Hannay, and large portions have been sold by each. The above sums are allocated below in the same proportions as the Stipends which were payable by His Grace and Mr. Hannay previous to the commencement of the land sales were allocated in the State of Teinds prepared by Mr. Thomas Henderson, W.S. [Writer to the Signet], in 1903 and in the Scheme of Locality which followed upon it. An Allocation made on the immediate basis of the real rents would no doubt be more strictly in accordance with principle, but in many cases the amounts of the real rents at the dates of the sales are not readily ascertainable. And as the Allocation of the Stipend was made on the basis of the real rents, it follows that the present one also proceeds on that basis though not directly
