of the CARRIAGE AND SADDLE HORSE TAX. in the Royalty
of Lauder from 5 April 1790 to 5 April 1791 by William Johnstone Survr [Surveyor]
Proof: 5 Horses at £0.10.0 is £2.10.0 Ster[Sterling]
I William Johnstone Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon carefull examination I
find the foregoing duties amount to the sum of Two pounds Ten Shillings Sterling And that upon
the 12 Nov [November] 1790 I delivered to Robert Romaines Collector of these duties an exact duplicate
of this Account duely examined & Compared which Contained my Oath that the foregoing Inhabitants
were duely served with Requisitions And that they were charged according to their returns
or according to my knowledge & Belief that they were liable in the said duties.
