Carriage and Horse Tax
Whithorn ending this 5th April 1787 by me William Currie Surveyor
I William Currie Surveyor aforesaid do hereby certify that the
Above duty amounts to ten shillings Ster [sterling] and that upon the
22 day of December 1786 I delivered to Mr John Melroy Collr [Collector]
an exact duplicate of the foregoing which contained my
Oath. The Inhab [Inhabitant] was duly served with a requisition of the
date forsaid and that this Assessment was made up from
this return.
