Hearth tax transcription

The Hail hearths within the tuo shyres of
Peebles and selkirk being added together (and
wherwith the Accoumptant charges himself) amount
to the number of -- 3438

From the which number of 3438 hearths is to be
deduced the nmber [number] of 256 hearths & that as the hearths
of the poor exeimed by act of parlt [parliament] and for whome
the accoumptant hes testificats from thr [their] Rexive [respective] minrs [ministers]
Ready heirwith to be produced after which the
whole number of hearths wherwith he is chargable wil be -- 3182

From the qlk [quhilk] number of 3182 he craves may be deduced
the number of 234 hearths of deficients within the forsaid
tuo shyres who albeit he hes used all Requyred diligence
against them ar still deficient & for the most pairt
wnable to pay and whose names he hes in a paper a
pairt [apairt] Ready herwith to be produced with ane acoumpt
of the seall [severall] parishes & touns wherin they Leive and
then the number of hearths wherwith he must
charge himself will be -- 2948
