DUNFERMLINE
Survey in the Burgh of Dunfermline from 5th day of April 1790 to 5 day of April 1791

[I] Charles Robb Assessor aforesaid do hearby Certify that upon carefull Examination of the foregoing
Duties I find they amount in whole to two pound fifteen shillings Sterling and the ten per cent
[d]uty to five shillings and sixpence and that upon the Ninth Day of November I Delivered to Robert
Hutton Collector of the said Duties for the burgh aforsaid an Exact Duplicate of the above
[A]ccount duley Examined and compaired with the foregoing which Contained my Oath that
Notices were left with the Several persons before named or at their dwelling houses of the
[D]ates Annexed to there respective names reqwiring them within fourteen days to Give in
[a] list of their carriage or saddle horses retained or Employed by them from the 5 Day
of April 1790 to the 5 April 1791 and that the said Account or Survey is made out
from the list returned to me and from the best information I could procuer of the Carri
[-age] or Saddle horses of those whose list are deficieant neglected or refused to Give in a list
there of in terms of the notices Left with them as aforesaid

Mr Robb's ws are always a bit odd (he writes u and w interchangeably and very similarly) and I think the flourish between the w and the i of Bowie is just a flourish, but it's just possible that he intended Bourie, Bowrie, Bousie or Bowsie
