I William Brunton Surveyor aforesaid do hereby certify that upon carefull
examination of the foregoing Tax I find they amount to the Sum of One hundr[ed]
and twenty five pound Eleven Shillings. [£125.11.0] And that upon the ............... day of ..................
I delivered to Gideon Neidham Collector of said duties for the Shire aforesaid. A[n]
exact duplicate of the above duly compared which contained my oath [that]
the preceding inhabitants were duly served with Requisitions of the [forgoing]
duties desiring them within fourteen days. to deliver or cause to be delivered
to me upon calling for that purpose. An Attested list of all the Horses used [by]
them from the 5 of July 1797 [5 Jul 1797] to the 5 of April 1798 [5 Apr 1798] as well as an Account
of what Horses they might use and employ anywhere Else. And that the for[going]
Report was made up from their Several lists or Returns to me from the best inform[ation]
I could procure or from my own Certain knowledge of their Respective Establish[ments]

The number of Horses Liable in Duty has been written in the "Actual Number of Horses" column. No Total has been written.
The figures have been transcribed in the corresponding wrong column following the "record what you see" guidelines.
However, the 10ths of a penny for the 20% duty that is hidden in the fold has been calculated and included.

The declaration by the Surveyor has blanks where the date on which he handed over the duties have been entered.
