Survey of the HORSE TAX, per 36 Geo III. Cap. xv. Burgh of Kirkcudt. [Kirkcudbright]

I David McMillan Survr. [Surveyor] aforesaid do hereby certify that upon careful
examination of the foregoing several Rates & duties I find they amt. [amount] to
the Sum of Two pounds sixteen sh [Shillings] Sterling; and that upon the
[date missing] day of January ane [one] thousand seven hundred
& ninety eight yrs. [years] I delivered to Mr David McLelland [ ]
Kircudbt. [Kirkcudbright] Collector of the sd [said] Duties for the Burgh aforsd. [aforesaid]
an exact Duplicate of the foregoing which contained my Oath
that Requisitions or notices were delivered to or left for
the several foregoing Persons at their dwelling place and
the charge made out from their returns or my best Information.
