I William Hogg Surveyor of Taxes Do Hereby Certify that upon
Carefull Examination of the Foregoing Account of Dutys Arr [Arrisen]
From Carts in the County of Haddington I find the amount to
be Ten Pounds Eighteen shillings. And that upon the 10th December
1785 I Delivered to Mr William Mckie Deputy Collector of said
Dutys in the County aforesaid an Exact Duplicate of the foregoing
duily Examined and Compared, & which Contained my Oath that
From Answers to my Requisitions & the Personal Appearance of the
Different Inhabitants or on Legal Evidence of their Retaining Carts [they]
were Justly Charged with the Duty.
