April 1791 By Charles Robb Assessor
Prooff 2 Carriages @ at £3.10.0 Each p [per] annum is £7.0.0 £0.14.0
I Charles Robb assessor aforesaid do hereby certify that upon carefull
Examination of the foregoing rates and duties I find they amount in whole to
the Sum of Seven pounds Sterling and the ten per cent duty to fourteen Shillings
Sterling and that upon the Eight day of November 1788 I delivered
to John Hutcheson Collector of the said duties for the burgh aforesaid an
Exact duplicate of the above account duly Examined and compared with
the foregoing which contained my Oath that notices were left with the
persons before named or at their dwelling houses of the dates annexed
to their receir [respective] names desiring them within fourteen to give in a list of their
Carriage or Sadle horses & retained or employed by them from the 5 day
of April 1790 to the 5 day of April 1791 and that the said account or
Survey is made out from the list returned to me and from the best
information I could procure of those whose lists are deficient
neglected or refused to give in a list thereof in terms of the nottices
left with them as foresaid.
