[the] Royalty of Haddington from 5 July 1789 to 5 April 1790 by W. Johnstone S [Surveyor]

I William Johnstone Surveyor aforesaid do hereby certify that upon carefull
examination I find the foregoing duties amount to One pound ten shill.[shillings] Sterling
and that upon 29 Decemr. [December] 1789 I delivered to John Carfrae Collector of said duties
an exact duplicate of this account duly examined & compared which contained
my Oath that the foregoing Inhabitants were duely served with Requisitions
of the above date and that they were charged according to their several Returns
Or according to my knowledge & belief That they were liable in said duties.
