Survey of the Wheel Carriage Tax in the Royalty of
Lauder from 5th April,1788 to 5th April, 1789 by William Johnstone, Surveyor.

I William Johnstone Surveyor aforesaid do hereby certify That I find the above duties amount to
Fourteen pounds Ster [sterling,] and that upon -- (Dec 1788) I delivered to Robert Romaines Collr. [Collector]
of said duties, an exact duplicate of the above Accompt duly examined and Compered which contained my
Oath that the above Inhabitant was duly served with a Requisition and that he was charged
according to his answer thereto.
